Bodywork

Integrative Massage

Massage therapy is a form of integrative bodywork that manipulates the body’s soft tissue - skin, muscle, tendon, and connective tissue. It is an excellent way relieve chronic or acute pain, improve joint range of motion, improve immune function, and decrease stress and anxiety. I draw from a range of massage modalities such as myo-fascial, trigger point release, orthopedic, and deep tissue to create a comprehensive treatment session.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic drainage is an advanced form of massage therapy that utilizes a range of gentle rhythmic techniques to engage with the lymphatic system. The techniques used are based on constant, rhythmic and gentle movements that mimic the body’s own pumping mechanism that moves the lymph fluid in the direction of the lymph pathways. This gentle form of massage enhances the activity of the immune system, reduces pain, and lowers the activity of the sympathetic nervous system. MLD is excellent for chronic discomfort, pre/ post surgical preparation, local edema, scar tissue, neuropathy, and chronic inflammation.

Cupping & Sports Massage

Cupping and sports massage are more specific treatments for an acute problem or injury or for correction of a chronic pattern of musculoskeletal pain from over or misuse. I utilize a combination of deep tissue, orthopedic, neuromuscular stretching, and cupping therapies to target and correct the root of tension and injury in the body. While this form of massage can often be intense and spends a lot of time focused on digging into the sore spots, it is excellent for treating a myriad of injuries such as a kinked neck, whiplash, hip and shoulder pain, tennis elbow, and TMJ.
